The civil service examination forms of this year are out and just like every year, this has turned out to be a much celebrated and enthusiastic affair for the millions who aspire to enter the Prestigious services . However it has been reported that a somewhat different trend is catching up among the aspirants ever since the BJP government came to power.
In an exclusive interview to the Fakingnews team a confused and a much heckled looking member of the Union public service commission told that
"changes in job preferences of candidates are perceptibly visible, there is no doubt about it; All the candidates are now vying for the foreign services, out of all the applications we received last year only a marginal few had applied for the IAS and IPS as their first choice. And later it was brought to our notice that even they wanted to change their preferences after finishing the syllabus on international current affairs"
A very elated but senior diplomat of the Indian foreign service confirmed to us on the phone that IFS had received a very step motherly treatment, so far, vis-a-vis the IAS; but times are changing and the IAS lobby should stay prepared for the backlash. He ended the conversation saying that Modi ji has finally got him and his service members their acche din.
Aspirants lingering outside the many paan shop in Rajendra Nagar, refused to explain the changing trend allegedly due to paucity of time. However a good samaritan came to our help saying " Jee abhi tak desh ko andar baith ke hi to chala rahe the ..kuch hua??
agar India ko America banana hai to America pehle jaana hoga".
Policy analysts are of the view that Modi's frequent international sojourns would give the young foreign service recruits a chance to roam around the world, albeit without their spouses and loved one's; and As far as the senior members are concerned they too have got their tongues wagging on account of Prime Minister's increased bonhomie with powerful leaders , "who wants to meet mulayam and mayawati when you can meet obama and zukerberg"- explained one.
Meanwhile the IAS guys are going green with envy and are entirely putting the blame on countries political leadership. Further rumors of more recruitment in the foreign service to manage Modi ji's increasing entourage have only added fuel to the fire.
No one can say whether the new trend among the aspirants is going to bear them their desired fruits, with certainty, but with increasing events like Turkey issuing postal stamp of Modi and the Mr Nawaj Sharif claiming that Modi Ji could win elections even in Pakistan, the future seems rather grim for the administrative services recruits.
